It’s the most wonderful time of the year, especially at Walt Disney World. Families travel from all over the globe to experience the holidays at Walt Disney World, and I get to experience Christmas whenever I want to throughout the whole month!
This year, Disney Springs is presenting its Tree Trail and first-ever drone show.
Disney’s Tree Trail is a fun, winding walk through a trail of Disney trees. Each tree is decorated with a different theme— Mickey Mouse, Villains, the Little Mermaid, Frozen, 101 Dalmatians, etc. The trail even includes a few ‘snowfalls’ …
What’s great about this section is all of the photo ops! Disney places photographers all throughout the theme parks and entertainment areas, to help capture each moment of your trip. The ‘My Disney Experience’ app allows you to log in and relive your vacation (or—in my case—night out). You can purchase the photos online, or download them if it’s included in your annual pass. The Tree Trail has some great spots, perfect for a Christmas or New Year’s card.
The drone show is one of Disney’s newest and most fabulous productions. Disney Springs’ “Starbright Holidays — an Intel Collaboration” lights up the West Side every night at 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. for a 5-minute show featuring 300 synced drones.
The light show can be seen from many areas of Disney Springs, but you’ll have the best view from the walkway along the lake between Characters in Flight and House of Blues. The show began November 20—I was there opening night!—and will run through January 8.
